The power of the Tongue
After Church this morning I read Proverbs 12 and found the following in verse 18:
"Reckless words pierce like a sword but the tongue of the wise brings healing."
It's very easy whether we are at home, church or work to cause damage by the words we speak. A cutting comment or nasty remark can really hurt someone and unfortunately us Christians can often be guilty of this. How much better is it if by God's grace we determine to be people who edify others by what we say. To build others up and bring healing rather than destroy or hurt them should be our goal.
