God's not a spoilsport!

Just been reading Leviticus 18 this morning which in the NIV translation is headed " Unlawful Sexual Relations." In this passage God gives Moses a list of unlawful sexual relations. Many of the verses start with the phrase "Do not". This is not because God is a spoilsport or killjoy. It's because He did and still does not want His people to defile themselves. If we defile ourselves it is us who suffer and have to bear the consequences. Let's remember that God knows best and His ways are best.
